About Me
Dr. Sherry Megalla began practicing as a Cardiologist in 2011 and joined Mount Sinai South Nassau in 2016. After completing her undergraduate studies at New York University, Dr. Megalla graduated with her medical degree from The Icahn School of Medicine. She then completed both her Internal Medicine residency and Cardiology fellowship at Montefiore Medical Center. With her board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Vascular Medicine, Dr. Megalla's clinical interests include noninvasive imaging, congestive heart failure, coronary artery disease, and women's cardiac health. Additionally, Dr. Megalla is multilingual and can communicate with her patients in English, Spanish, and Arabic.
In her professional community, Dr. Megalla is a member of several organization, including the American Heart Association, the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and the Society of Vascular Ultrasound. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography. In conjunction with her clinical work, Dr. Megalla is involved in education for new physicians, were she conducts EKG rounds, participates in cardiology grand rounds, and gives lectures.
Outside of her time with patients, Dr. Megalla enjoys spending time with her family. She explained, "I love cooking and baking and spending time in the kitchen with my girls, when there is time of course! I also love traveling and hope to do more of that in the future."
