Shuchita Sharma, MD is a clinical nephrologist at the Mount Sinai Health System. She obtained her medical degree in India and then moved to the United States for further training. She did her internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and completed her fellowship training at Mount Sinai Hospital, Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
Dr. Sharma has been a board-certified practicing nephrologist for 10 years and Associate Professor of Medicine at Icahn School of Medicine. She manages patients with chronic kidney disease and associated conditions, electrolyte abnormalities, glomerulonephritis, kidney stones, and post-transplant care. Her main focus of interest is Home dialysis and she is the Medical Director for the Home dialysis program at Mount Sinai Kidney Center. She also has expertise in performing percutaneous kidney biopsies and is the co-director for the kidney biopsy service at Mount Sinai. Dr. Sharma has several articles published in peer reviewed scientific journals and given invited lectures on wide range of topics at various places locally and internationally.

The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
