About Me
Siri Shastry, MD, MS, Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine, is a physician-scientist whose research is focused on the management of opioid use disorder and drug overdose.
Dr. Shastry is core faculty in the Mount Sinai Center for Research on Emerging Substances, Poisoning, Overdose, and New Discoveries (RESPOND Center). Her research aims to reduce morbidity and mortality associated with drug use. Of note, her work has garnered insights into the experience of patients with opioid use disorder who had COVID-19.
Dr. Shastry completed medical school at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where she was chosen to be a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society and graduated with Distinction in Research. She completed residency in emergency medicine at University of California, Irvine, where she served as Chief Resident. Following residency, she completed the Clinical Science Training Program in Emergency Medicine (T32) at the Department of Emergency Medicine at Mount Sinai.
She is fluent in English and Kannada, has advanced proficiency in Spanish and conversational proficiency in Hindi.
