About Me
Sloane Sheldon, Ph.D., ABPP, is a Board Certified Neuropsychologist and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology, Division of Epilepsy at Mount Sinai. Dr. Sheldon completed her pre-doctoral clinical internship in Neuropsychology at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, and her post-doctoral fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center’s Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. She received her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with a focus in Neuropsychology from Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology at Yeshiva University.
Dr. Sheldon provides neuropsychological assessments on individuals with a wide range of neurological disorders, with a focus on those with epilepsy. Her evaluations aim to help patients understand their cognitive strengths and weaknesses and how this may impact daily functioning in order to maximize their quality of life. Additionally, her assessments inform diagnosis and medical treatment planning. Dr. Sheldon works closely with the epilepsy team to ensure that each patient receives the optimal course of treatment for their unique clinical presentation and needs. She also assists with intra- and extra-operative language mappings and Wada procedures.
In addition to clinical work, Dr. Sheldon’s research interests include studying the cognitive sequalae of epilepsy and how neuropsychological assessment can best be utilized in pre-surgical planning. She has published several scholarly articles in these areas. She also trains doctoral students in neuropsychological test administration and interpretation.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.
Dr. Sheldon has not yet completed reporting of Industry relationships.
Mount Sinai’s faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
