About Me
Solomon W. Bienstock, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) at the Fuster Heart Hospital at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He holds a secondary appointment with the Department of Diagnostic, Molecular, and Interventional Radiology and also serves as Associate Program Director for the Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging (CT/MRI) fellowship at the Mount Sinai Hospital.
Dr. Bienstock earned his MD degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, graduating with distinction in clinical investigation. At graduation, he was awarded the Edward Weinstein Award for Outstanding Scholarship and Human Commitment. He completed his clinical training in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, and Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging at the Mount Sinai Hospital. He is recognized for his contributions to research, education, and mentorship, exemplified by his Housestaff Excellence in Teaching Award by Mount Sinai’s Institute for Medical Education and the Dr. Stephen S. Scheidt Memorial Scholarship by the New York Cardiological Society.
Dr. Bienstock specializes in multimodality cardiovascular imaging and holds board certifications in Internal Medicine, Cardiology, Echocardiography, Cardiac MRI, Nuclear Cardiology, and Vascular Interpretation (RPVI). He attends on the inpatient cardiology services and holds regular clinic hours.
Dr. Bienstock's research focuses on cardiac imaging, specifically coronary atherosclerosis and plaque characterization, and is an investigator on NIH-funded projects. Dr. Bienstock is also active in clinical trials and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications.
