I am (or you can say Dr. Verma is..) a Child Neurologist and an Epileptologist. I am an Assistant Professor in Pediatric Neurology, Clinical Neurophysiology and Pediatrics at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. I am board certified in Pediatrics, Neurology (with special qualifications in Child Neurology) and Clinical Neurophysiology. I enjoy taking care of pediatric patients with various neurological conditions such as headaches, tics, cerebral palsy, seizures, strokes, demyelinating disorders, metabolic disorders, as well as neuromuscular disorders. My special clinical interests are in new-onset seizures, neonatal seizures, refractory epilepsy, epilepsy surgery and with the help of our multidisciplinary team, I hope to provide comprehensive care to patients with poorly controlled seizures through newer treatment modalities such as newer medications including CBD oil, ketogenic diet, VNS, RNS as well as various surgical options. I derive strength and fulfillment by seeing my patients do well in life.
I completed by Pediatric residency training from Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center in New Jersey after which I completed my Pediatric Neurology fellowship from SUNY Downstate Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY and then my advanced training in Clinical Neurophysiology/Epilepsy at Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine. I then served as an Assistant professor of Pediatric Neurology and Epilepsy at Southern Illinois University in Springfield, Illinois before moving to Mount Sinai Health System in New York. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my dog and my family.
