Dr. Shah is one of only a few urologists in New York who is board-certified in the field of Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS). Dr. Shah has been practicing since 2004 specializing in the care of male and female patients with urinary problems and female patients with pelvic organ prolapse. He has developed this specialty and built an active practice in collaboration with a network of referring physicians consisting of primary care providers, gynecologists and neurologists. Research
Dr. Shah's clinical research is focused on the treatment of overactive bladder and pelvic organ prolapse (POP). An active clinical trial looking at long term outcomes with the use of biologic grafts as an alternative to vaginal mesh is currently in progress. Dr Shah is also interested in outpatient minimally invasive treatments for benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) using Bipolar Transurethral Resection of the Prostate and Laser Vaporization of Prostate. He and his team are also currently enrolling patients in a clinical trial for an outpatient, office-based procedure for the treatment of BPH.
