About Me
Sarah Kai Acker, ANP-BC, AAHIV-S graduated from Yale School of Nursing with a Master’s of Science in Nursing in 2014 and has since dedicated her career to serving marginalized communities that have been historically underserved. She spent the first five years of her career working in community health in East New York and Downtown Brooklyn, providing comprehensive HIV, gender-affirming, and primary care to a diverse population of adults struggling with multiple comorbidities of HCV, substance abuse, and mental health disorders.
In 2019, she joined Mount Sinai’s Institute of Advanced Medicine in Chelsea. Ms. Acker focuses her practice on HIV prevention, including Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), sexually transmitted infection treatment, prevention, and diagnosis. She also provides gender-affirming care for pre-established clients. She still maintains a small panel of adults living with HIV for which she provides comprehensive care but is not accepting new HIV+ clients at this time. Ms. Acker believes in a collaborative approach to patient care as she finds patients achieve the best results if they are part of the decision-making process when it comes to their health goals.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.

Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.
Dr. ACKER has not yet completed reporting of Industry relationships.
Mount Sinai’s faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
