About Me

Stephanie Bernik, MD, FACS, is the Chief of Breast Service at Mount Sinai West. She is also an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Dr. Bernik joined Mount Sinai in 2018 from Lenox Hill Hospital, where she served as the Chief of Surgical Oncology since 2010. Prior to that, she was employed at The Saint Vincent’s Comprehensive Cancer Center in New York since 2000 where she progressed from Attending Surgeon in Breast Oncology to Chief of Breast Surgery.

Dr. Bernik earned a medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. She went on to complete an internship and residency in general surgery and a research fellowship in surgical oncology at Saint Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center. She then completed a fellowship in breast surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Bernik is consistently invited to present nationally and has authored multiple abstracts. She is a Fellow of theAmerican College of Surgeons and member of many professional committees, organizations and advisory boards.
