Stephanie V Blank, MD
Gynecologic Oncology, Cancer (Oncology)
About Me
Gynecologic oncology combines aspects of medicine that I love—the ability to get to know patients and keep up with them for a long time, while helping them to move past illness. The field gives me the chance to work closely with colleagues, role models and trainees, and the science and surgical aspects of gynecologic oncology are dynamic and elegant—advances are made daily. The field has changed immensely, even since I was in medical school, with women living longer and better than ever before.
I primarily care for women with ovarian, uterine, and cervical cancer and for those who are at an increased genetic risk for these types of cancer. This area of medicine has advanced so much that I can now personalize care for each woman I see, and I can create patient-specific treatment plans. This I find especially important.
Women have busy schedules and many roles and priorities. I want to help them by providing the treatment that works best in their lives—with as little interruption as possible to their daily lives.
I am able to provide this care to women because I work with an incredibly approachable team. We listen to people and treat each woman as a unique individual. I love what I do and feel privileged to be a gynecologic oncologist, and to serve as Director of Gynecologic Oncology for the Mount Sinai Health System, Co-Director of the Center of Excellence for Gynecologic Cancer, and Associate Director of The Tisch Cancer Institute for Women’s Cancers.

Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.
