Stephen E Mercer, MD, PhD
Dr. Mercer is a Clinical Instructor at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He completed his undergraduate studies in 2.5 years, graduating in 1997 with a B.S from the University of Texas at Arlington. In 2000, he received his M.S. degree in Biology from the University of Texas at Arlington and entered a MD/PhD program at SUNY Upstate Medical University, which he completed in 2007. Immediately thereafter he became a resident in Mount Sinai School of Medicine’s (MSSM) Anatomic Pathology program which he completed in June 2010. He then completed a one-year fellowship in Dermato-pathology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. Mercer is licensed to practice medicine in New York and is Board certified by the American Board of Pathology and is Board eligible for the American Boards of Pathology and Dermatology.
His list of publications is quite impressive and is first author on three original contributions and a co-author on seven others. He has also published other peer-reviewed articles in such journals as the American Journal of Dermatopathology, the International Journal of Surgical Pathology and Cell Biochemistry and Biophysics and is first author on six out of these 12 publications.
