About Me
Dr. Steve L. Liao is the Director of the Clinical Track Cardiovascular Fellowship Program (The Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at Mount Sinai Hospital and New York City Health and Hospitals Elmhurst Hospital Center) and the Director of the Nuclear Cardiology Laboratory at Mount Sinai.
A graduate of the Brown University, Dr. Liao completed residency in internal medicine at Yale before fellowship training in cardiology at Mount Sinai. He joined the faculty in 2008 with joint appointments in Medicine and Radiology, initially as a full-time staff member at the James J. Peters Veterans Administration Medical Center, where he rapidly gained appreciation as a thoughtful teacher and clinician. He moved to the Mount Sinai Medical Center campus in 2015, became Director of Nuclear Cardiology in 2017, and in 2019 was the Associate Director of the Clinical Track Fellowship Program.
As a specialist in multimodality noninvasive cardiovascular imaging, Dr. Liao’s expertise spans nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, cardiac computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. He collaborates broadly with faculty and fellows in clinical imaging research and engages with trainees in all of the cardiovascular training programs.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
