About Me
Dr. Steven Arsht is an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and holds the rank of Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. He is a native of Wilmington Delaware. After receiving his B.A. from The George Washington University in 1991, he went on to graduate with distinction from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences in 1995. Dr. Arsht completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at GW in 2001. In his final year of training, he served as chief resident and was responsible for administrative duties and the education of junior residents and medical students. He then traveled to New York for a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction and Sports Medicine at the world renowned Insall Scott Kelly Institute for Sports Medicine where he gained additional sports medicine training with the team physicians for the New York Yankees, New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets, and the New York Liberty. After completing his fellowship training in 2002, Dr. Arsht remained at the Insall Scott Kelly Institute as an attending orthopaedic surgeon for several years before becoming part of the full time academic staff at the Mount Sinai Health System. Dr. Arsht is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons in Sports Medicine and Orthopedic Surgery. His clinical focus is in the nonoperative management of sports injuries and orthopedic problems and takes a holistic approach to patient care. He has been published in multiple peer-reviewed journals, contributed to book chapters, and has delivered podium and poster presentations on the national stage. Outside of the practice of medicine, Dr. Arsht spends time with working with not-for-profit organizations Trial Blazers For Kids Foundation and The Runway of Dreams Foundation. In 2021, he launched a national campaign called “This Jab’s For You” to raise awareness about the corona virus vaccine and to honor the memory of those that died and those affected by the pandemic.
