About Me
Steven Pelaez, MD, MBA, FACS has been serving Nassau and Suffolk County as a colorectal surgeon for over 20 years and joined Colon & Rectal Surgical Specialists of New York in 2014. A native of Long Island, Dr. Pelaez was awarded Bachelor of Arts Magna Cum Laude at Boston University. He completed his medical education at New York University Medical School.
Dr. Pelaez is certified by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and is a member of the Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons and the American College of Surgeons. He was inducted as a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons in 1998.
Dr. Pelaez’s interest in humanitarian endeavors arose when he spent four weeks in Nigeria in a surgical rotation while in his 4th year in Medical School serving as a surgical volunteer in Ecuador. He brings a high level of care, compassion, and skill in treating his patients with colon and rectal issues.
