About Me

Dr. Stuart Schecter joined Mount Sinai as a Cardiologist in 2014. After graduating from his undergraduate studies at Tulane University with his degree in Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Schecter graduated with his medical degree from the University of South Florida. He then completed both his residency and fellowship at The Mount Sinai Hospital in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, respectively. Dr. Schecter is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Cardiovascular Diseases and is a Certified Cardiac Device Specialist of the International Board of Heart Rhythm Examiners. In his years in practice, Dr. Schecter has implanted over 8,000 pacemakers/defibrillators and often implants heart monitors in the office to identify causes of syncope, stroke, and guide the management of atrial fibrillation.

Outside of his clinical role, Dr. Schecter holds both academic and administrative positions at Mount Sinai; he is an Associate Professor of Cardiology at the Icahn School of Medicine and acts as the Director of the Cardiac Device Remote Monitoring System. He also holds Fellowship status in the American College of Cardiology and the American Society of Echocardiography.

Dr. Schecter has conducted extensive research work during his time practicing cardiology. He acted as co-investigator for landmark cardiology trials focused on device-based treatments for heart failure and invented tactile feedback technologies for procedures. He also has 25 patents and has presented at multiple international meetings. Dr. Schecter's mission is to provide personal care for patients while developing technologies that improve patient care worldwide.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments

The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
