About Me
Dr. Sunil George M.D completed his residency and fellowship at Stony Brook University Hospital. His extensive research on dialysis and its modalities led to a particular interest in managing hypertension and electrolyte disorders. He is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology.
Dr. George began his career at St. Francis Hospital and North Shore University Hospital before joining Mount Sinai Doctors Long Island in 2014. His leadership skills were quickly recognized, leading to his appointment to the Executive Board in 2018 and later to the role of Associate Medical Director. In 2025, he was appointed Medical Director of the new, 65,000-square-foot Mount Sinai-Wantagh multi-specialty site.
Dr. George's commitment to outstanding patient care and communication is evident in his record: he was one of only nine practitioners in the entire Mount Sinai Health System to have been awarded the prestigious Cullman Award for Excellence in Physician Communication five or more times. He is also consistently recognized as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor in Nephrology.
