About Me

Dr. Suruchi Karnik joined Mount Sinai as an Endocrinologist in 2022. After graduating with her medical degree from Grant Medical College in Mumbai, Dr. Karnik remained in India for her residency in Internal Medicine. She then moved to the US for a second Internal Medicine residency at Maimonides Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes, & Metabolism at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. With her board certifications in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology, Diabetes & Metabolism, Dr. Karnik's clinical interests include Type I & Type II Diabetes, obesity, and thyroid disorders. Additionally, Dr. Karnik is bilingual and can communicate with her patients in both English and Hindi.

In her professional community, Dr. Karnik is a member of the Endocrine Society and the American Association of Clinical Endocrinology. She has been involved in multiple research initiatives, with her most recent focusing on the impact of Covid-19 lockdown on glycemic control, and has several publications in prestigious journals, such as the Journal of Endocrine Society.

In her practice, Dr. Karnik describes herself as "a compassionate and dedicated healthcare professional who values the importance of building strong relationships with my patients. I believe that spending time with my patients and really getting to know them helps to provide the best possible care and treatment." Outside of the office, Dr. Karnik loves spending quality time with her kids and participating in activities together. Whether it's going for a hike, playing a game, or just spending time at home, she always find joy in being able to spend time with her little ones and make lasting memories.
