About Me
Swati Antala, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Hepatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Mount Sinai Kravis Children’s Hospital and Mount Sinai’s Recanati/Miller Transplantation Institute. Dr. Antala obtained her undergraduate degree from Princeton University and her medical degree from Rutgers-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. She completed her pediatrics residency and chief residency at Yale University/Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. Dr. Antala then completed a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition as well as a fellowship in transplant hepatology at Northwestern University/Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago. Her areas of clinical expertise include pediatric liver disease, neonatal cholestasis, biliary atresia, autoimmune hepatitis, acute liver failure, and liver transplantation.
Research Focus:
Dr. Antala’s research focuses on the immune mechanisms underlying cholestasis and on factors influencing outcomes in neonatal acute liver failure. She is also involved in studying post-transplant outcomes for pediatric liver transplant patients.
