About Me
Tamara Cameo, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist at The Mount Sinai Hospital in the Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery in the Raquel and Jaime Gilinski Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Her clinical interests include perioperative care equity, laparoscopic techniques, surgical approaches to myomectomy, and expanding access to minimally invasive gynecologic surgery for underserved populations.
Dr. Cameo earned her medical degree from Washington University School of Medicine, where she was awarded the Distinguished Faculty Scholarship and the William T. Shearer and Lynn Des Prez Diversity Scholarship. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Barnes Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. Dr. Cameo went on to complete her fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Cameo was awarded the Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology Award by the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists in 2022.
Dr. Cameo has been published and has lectured extensively on perioperative care equity, laparoscopic techniques, surgical techniques in myomectomy, and expanding access to minimally invasive surgical care for underserved populations.
Dr. Cameo is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
