About Me
Tamara Kolev, MD, is an Assistant Professor and gynecologist in the Raquel and Jaime Gilinski Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Kolev specializes in gynecological treatment via minimally invasive surgery. Her areas of specialty also include diagnosis and treatment of women with pelvic pain, endometriosis, and fibroids.
Dr. Kolev is actively involved in gynecological research, having published several peer-reviewed journals and abstracts on the subject. Among her topics of research are robotics-assisted, fertility-sparing surgery, as well as management of recurrent fallopian tube and peritoneal cancers. Dr. Kolev has also published book chapters on laparoscopic evaluation of early and advanced ovarian cancer.
Dr. Kolev received her medical degree from the Florida State University College of Medicine. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Mount Sinai Beth Israel. In addition, Dr. Kolev completed a fellowship at Mount Sinai West, with a focus on minimally invasive gynecological surgery.
