About Me

Dr Tarek Korban is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr Korban received a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of Montreal in Montreal, Canada. He then attended The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY and received a Medical Degree (MD), after which he completed a General Surgery internship and a specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital in New York, NY.

Dr. Korban trained in the broad scope of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including orthognathic surgery, complex maxillofacial trauma and reconstruction, pre-prosthetic surgery and bone grafting, cosmetic facial surgery, management of sleep apnea, surgical dental extractions and wisdom teeth extractions, placement of dental implants, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) management and maxillofacial pathology. He also has training and is licensed to perform general and conscious anesthesia (sedation anesthesia). He has published clinical articles and has given presentations at national and international meetings.

Dr Korban holds an academic appointment at The Mount Sinai Hospital where he maintains clinical and teaching privileges in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery department.
