About Me

Tehreem Rehman, MD, MPH, MBA, is an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine and Associate Medical Director of The Mount Sinai Hospital Emergency Department. Dr. Tehreem is dual-board certified in Clinical Informatics, with additional certifications from the American Board of Artificial Intelligence in Medicine, the American College of Medical Quality and Epic Systems.

As Associate Medical Director of The Mount Sinai Hospital Emergency Department, Dr. Rehman established and leads the Geriatrics Service and Observation Service, supporting high-quality and equitable care through EHR-embedded clinical pathways. She serves as Chair of the Unified Communications Committee, leveraging digital innovation to enhance patient experience and improve interdisciplinary team communication. Additionally, she spearheads interdepartmental care transitions workgroups with Psychiatry and Internal Medicine to support safe and efficient handoffs.

Dr. Rehman serves as faculty in the EM Clinical Informatics Division and partners with Department and Health System leaders on improving care standardization, reducing avoidable admissions, and strengthening post-acute care transitions. She actively contributes to the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Admissions Committee and mentors future healthcare leaders through the Graduate Medical Education Leadership Program. At Mount Sinai Health System, she serves as a Physician Advisor for Utilization Review and leads the design and implementation of Epic MyNextSteps for patients discharged from the emergency department to advance system-wide standardization of follow-up care.

Nationally recognized for her expertise, Dr. Rehman serves as Chair of the American College of Emergency Physicians' Health Innovation Technology Committee and has created an Administration & Operations National Mentorship Track for students and trainees through the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine. Her work has been funded by the NIH, CDC, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation, and Pfizer, and has been published in journals such as Annals of Emergency Medicine, Journal of Public Health Management & Practice, and JNMA.

Dr. Rehman graduated from Columbia University as a John Jay Scholar, Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health as a Sommer Scholar and Yale School of Medicine where she and her colleague have an annual advocacy award named after them. She completed emergency medicine residency in South Side Chicago at Advocate Christ Medical Center, where she served as chief resident, followed by an Emergency Medicine Administration, Operations, and Quality Fellowship at the University of Colorado. Dr. Rehman lives in East Harlem with her husband and two feisty cats.
