About Me

Todd E. Feinberg, M.D. is Board Certified in both Neurology and Psychiatry and is a Professor of Psychiatry and Neurology at the Icahn School of Medicine Mount Sinai Medical Center. He was a graduate of Mount Sinai School of Medicine and completed residencies in Neurology and Psychiatry at Mount Sinai Hospital; a Behavioral Neurology Fellowship in the Department of Neurology at the University of Florida, Gainesville, and an NIH Post-Doctorate Fellowship in Neurophysiology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine. He currently serves as the Chief of the Yarmon Neurobehavior and Alzheimer’s Disease Center of Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center, New York City, a program he initiated in 1986.His clinical and research interests include the diagnosis and treatment of Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias, and the interface between neurology and psychiatry. He is the author or editor of over 100 publications and his books include Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychology (McGraw-Hill, 2003), What to do When the Doctor Says its Early-Stage Alzheimer’s (Fair Winds, 2005), The Lost Self: Pathologies of the Brain and Identity (Oxford, 2005) Altered Egos: How the Brain Creates the Self (Oxford, 2001) and most recently From Axons to Identity: Neurological Explorations of the Nature of the Self  (W.W. Norton). He lectures widely in national and international venues and has twice delivered the keynote address at the National Academy of Neuropsychology and the keynote address at the 16th Congress of the Italian Society of Psychopathology (SOPSI), in Rome.
