About Me
Dr. Trevor Prashad joined Mount Sinai in 2026 as a Family Medicine physician after working several years in an outpatient multi-specialty practice. After completing his undergraduate studies at Stony Brook University, Dr. Prashad earned his medical degree from the New York Institute of Technology College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his residency in Family Medicine at Mount Sinai South Nassau Hospital, during which time he served as Rapid Response and Code Team Leader during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Dr. Prashad is board certified in Family Medicine by the American Board of Family Physicians and his clinical interests include preventative medicine, nutrition, fitness, obesity and diabetes management.
In his professional community, Dr. Prashad is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine and the American Medical Association.
When speaking about his pathway into medicine, Dr. Prashad explains, "I got into medicine after seeing family members develop chronic illnesses and cancer. I saw how difficult it was navigating the health care system, so I want to be an advocate for patients." Outside of his time in the office, Dr. Prashad enjoys working out, hiking, and spending time with his family and dog.

Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.
Dr. PRASHAD has not yet completed reporting of industry relationships or has no industry relationships to report.
Mount Sinai’s faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
