About Me
Dr. Tyler Cappello began practicing as an Internist is 2024 and joined Mount Sinai in the same year. After completing his undergraduate studies at University of Connecticut, Dr. Cappello earned his medical doctorate from Drexel University. He then completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Stony Brook University. During this time, Dr. Cappello served as a primary care physician for veterans at the Northport VA Medical Center in the primary care continuity clinic. He was also involved in Quality Improvement projects with the VA clinic. Dr. Cappello is board eligible with the American Board of Internal Medicine. His clinical interests include primary care and preventative medicine.
When discussing his pathway into medicine, Dr. Cappello explains, "I went into medicine so that I could help people and make a difference. I place a lot of importance on prevention as it makes a huge impact on long-term health." Outside of the office, Dr. Cappello enjoys spending time with his family, going to the gym, and reading. He is originally from Connecticut and moved to Long Island for training. He loved it here and decided to stay, which led to him joining Mount Sinai.
