About Me
Dr. Vaishali Patel is currently an Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She completed a combined 7 year BA/medical program at Boston University/University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey in 1996. She then went on to complete her residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital- and stayed there for an additional year to complete a fellowship in Emergency Medical Services. Dr. Patel started working at Mount Sinai in 2000 & has been involved with many different aspects of the department since then. Since 2009, she has served as the Director for the ED PA Program. In this role, she oversees over 40 PAs- which includes managing, reviewing & maintaining the program. Since 2017, Dr. Patel has also served as the lead physician for the NFL UNC program- working specifically with the New York Jets. In this role, she oversees 5 additional physicians serving as UNCs & attends home games on the sideline to assist in the concussion assessments of football players with the team physicians.
