About Me
Vaughn Hodges, M.D. is a board certified dermatologist and assistant professor at Mount Sinai. He currently sees patients of all ages Monday through Friday at our Morningside location. Dr. Hodges completed his residency at the University of California, San Francisco. He received his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (ΑΩΑ). He completed his internal medicine internship at Mount Sinai Beth Israel and received his undergraduate degree from Columbia University.
Dr. Hodges maintains a strong commitment to the teaching and mentorship of resident dermatologists and medical students and is committed to providing medical access to underserved communities. He has co-authored and contributed to several peer-reviewed publications and has performed numerous educational lectures on a variety of topics to fellow physicians and allied health professionals. Dr. Hodges is an expert in the detection of skin cancer and the treatment of acne, rosacea, atopic dermatitis, and psoriasis, as well as many other dermatologic concerns. Dr. Hodges aims to give personalized skin care for patients of all ages and skin types.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.
As stated above, Dr. Hodges made great efforts to check me out thoroughly, as well as taking very good care of other members of my family who had seen him earlier (my wife needed surgery to remove a cancerous spot on her arm, and he made sure he was available to perform the procedure promptly, which was enormously appreciated).
Dr. Hodges was very nice, thorough in explaining what I had, and treatment options. He also discussed any possible side effects, when I should return and we chit chatted about our kids briefly. So I felt very heard, seen, and comfortable as his bedside manner was amazing.
[...] Dr. Hodges is truly a gem. Actually, looked at my condition, got close, looked at the photos I had and the notes in my progression. Asked questions that honestly seem really key now Considered external factors And we were able to figure out not only my diagnosis but also that the treatment from the first derm exacerbated the problem and caused damage to my skin I honestly could have cried - leaving the office with a promise to follow up in four weeks to make sure all was well.
