About Me
Virginia Flatow, MD, is an obstetrician-gynecologist specializing in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery in the Raquel and Jaime Gilinski Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Science at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Dr. Flatow's practice focuses on laparoscopic and robotic management of endometriosis and fibroids, advanced office and operative hysteroscopy, and the management of cesarean scar niches.
Dr. Flatow earned her medical degree with distinction in research from Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. She completed her internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The Mount Sinai Hospital and was presented with the Award for Excellence in Resident Education. She was selected for the Society for Laparoscopic Surgeons award for Outsanding MIS Resident Achievement and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopics award for Recognition of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology. Dr. Flatow went on to complete her fellowship in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2024.
Dr. Flatow has been published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented on topics such as treatment of myofascial pelvic pain and specimen extraction techniques for laparoscopic myomectomies.
Dr. Flatow is a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She is also a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists.
