Whitney Stansbury, MD, MPH, is Assistant Professor in the Department of Environmental Medicine and Public Health at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Trained in lifestyle and preventive medicine, she aims to reduce barriers for minority patients in occupational medicine settings. Her previous clinical research has focused on cancer disparities among African American women, exploring the connections between mental illness, race and cancer mortality. She completed her Bachelor’s degree in 2010 at the University of Miami. She then completed her Doctorate of Medicine (MD) at Meharry Medical College in 2016 and her residency in Preventive Medicine and Public Health at Stony Brook School of Medicine in 2020. She also received her Master’s in Public Health from Stony Brook School of Public Health in 2020.
