Internal Medicine, Cardiology (Heart), Cardiovascular Disease (Heart Disease)
About Me
Dr. William Schwartz has practiced Cardiology for over 40 years and joined Mount Sinai in 2010. After graduating with his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Schwartz completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Bronx Municipal Hospital Center. He then remained at the institution for his fellowship in Cardiology before moving to NYU Medical Center for a second fellowship in Cardiac Catheterization. Dr. Schwartz is double-board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in both Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Schwartz serves as an Assistant Professor of Cardiology at The Icahn School of Medicine, where he hopes to continue inspiring students to be an engaged, caring physician. Additionally, for over 20 years, he has mentored high school and college students who have expressed an interest in the medical field. He is also a member of the American College of Cardiology and has won numerous awards throughout his years in practice.
When practicing medicine, Dr. Schwartz believes that each patient has a biological, psychological, and social aspect to their heart condition. Outside of his time in the office, Dr. Schwartz is active in community outreach through lectures on heart health, as well as through a weekly column in the local newspaper.

Patient Experience Star Ratings and Comments
The Patient Experience Star Rating reflects our patients’ perception of how well their Mount Sinai provider communicated with them during an office visit. The Star Rating is based on patient responses to three questions on a patient experience survey, a standardized questionnaire sent to verified patients and distributed by a third party vendor, Press Ganey. Responses are measured on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the best score.

Industry Relationships
Physicians and scientists on the faculty of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai often interact with pharmaceutical, device, biotechnology companies, and other outside entities to improve patient care, develop new therapies and achieve scientific breakthroughs. In order to promote an ethical and transparent environment for conducting research, providing clinical care and teaching, Mount Sinai requires that salaried faculty inform the School of their outside financial relationships.
Dr. Schwartz has not yet completed reporting of Industry relationships.
Mount Sinai’s faculty policies relating to faculty collaboration with industry are posted on our website. Patients may wish to ask their physician about the activities they perform for companies.
