About Me
Yujin Guo, MD, is an Assistant Clinical Professor of Surgery at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and a colorectal and general surgeon at Mount Sinai Queens and The Mount Sinai Hospital. She completed undergraduate studies in China, then earned a PhD in Neurobiology at the State University of New York at Buffalo before receiving her medical degree from New York University. After completing her residency in general surgery at The Mount Sinai Hospital, Dr. Guo was accepted into a colorectal surgery fellowship at the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. There, she learned numerous techniques specific to performing successful surgeries of the colon, rectum, and anus.
Dr. Guo builds a trusting rapport with patients and takes immense pride in helping people—often devastated by their diagnoses—lead healthy and comfortable lives after surgery. She is skilled in laparoscopic surgery and minimally invasive procedures that result in less scarring and shorter recovery times for patients. Dr. Guo also takes part in researching new and emerging approaches to surgery, such as robotic-assisted surgery and sphincter-preserving procedures. Using innovative and cutting-edge techniques, Dr. Guo endeavors to minimize pain and maximize health outcomes so that patients are completely satisfied following their surgeries at Mount Sinai.
