About Me
Yunsoo Lee, MD is a fellowship-trained spine surgeon for the Mount Sinai Health System and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery. Dr. Lee's practice encompasses a wide range of adult spinal disorders, including cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, with a special interest in minimally invasive techniques, traumatic and degenerative pathologies, and translational research. Dr. Lee believes in an interdisciplinary, patient-centered approach, utilizing both non-operative and operative interventions to help patients improve their quality of life and achieve their goals.
Dr. Lee received her undergraduate degree from Harvard University, graduating magna cum laude. She attained her medical degree from the Yale School of Medicine and did her orthopedic residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine. She then finalized her training with a two-year research and clinical spine surgery fellowship at the Rothman Orthopedic Institute at Thomas Jefferson University, working with world-renown leaders in spine surgery.
Research has always been an important part of Dr. Lee's interest in spine surgery. She is the receipt of multiple research grants and awards. She has authored numerous abstracts, publications, and book chapters, presenting basic science and clinical research regularly at national and international meetings. Dr. Lee is a member of the North American Spine Society, the Cervical Spine Research Society, and the Lumbar Spine Research Society.
