About Me
Yuri Ahuja, MD PhD (he/his) is an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Artificial Intelligence in the Departments of Medicine and Artificial Intelligence and Human Health at Mount Sinai. Dr. Ahuja joined Mount Sinai in 2025 after completing residency at NYU Langone Health.
• Dr. Ahuja is leading an initiative to develop, apply, and potentially commercialize cutting-edge machine learning technologies that augment the practice of inpatient medicine.
• In addition to his academic pursuits, Dr. Ahuja has served as Chief Technology Officer of a medical technology company and technologist in residence of a venture capital firm.
• Dr. Ahuja has developed several machine learning methods to efficiently identify phenotypes within Electronic Health Record (EHR) data, obviating the need for costly chart review. He has also developed multiple novel AI diagnostics, two of which are entering clinical trials.
• Dr. Ahuja completed his B.S. in Molecular Biophysics & Biochemistry magna cum laude at Yale University (2015), his Ph.D. in Biostatistics at Harvard University (2021), and his M.D. at Harvard Medical School (2022).
• Current leadership and membership roles outside of Mount Sinai: Dr. Ahuja is a contributing member of the American Medical Informatics Association.
